"The only thing we NEED to do is to PRODUCE and MANUFACTURE more products. We must produce more if we want to prosper."

Yes, that is exactly what we need to do to get out of this. I don't understand the logic of Obama in regards to this (except that he is listening to the WRONG people, like Geitner). We the people make up the majority of the economy, not the banks. Why is he focusing on that small sliver of the economic situation?

I personally don't think the market will or would correct itself. It was letting the markets run wild that got us with all these worthless assets. And I don't think this is a cyclical phenomenon, mostly because of these "assets" which is something relatively "new" overall in relation to economics and market mechanics.

My question is this, why can't Banking be boring again? Can't we just repeal Gramm/Leach/Bliley, let the banks split again into investment and commercial banking as separate things, the way Glass-Steagal intended them to be, after very similar events occurred in the great Depression? And while we are dragging out old legislation, how about some Anti-Trust considerations with corporations that we are being told are "too big to fail"? Split them up if they are that big that no one knows what to do with them or how to regulate them.

The past 30+ years real wages have fallen (when you factor in cost of living, etc), and instead of addressing that problem, and giving better wages to the people (either through Unions, minimium wage increases, etc), many in the political arena opted instead to allow Debt to make up the difference. Only, that doesn't work, the bill eventually comes do, as we see with the bankruptcies and foreclosures left and right.

You may enjoy this piece, as it goes into that...

Alright, as long as they are legal (look for photo ID)and you play safe then...

Just teasing you, but I honestly couldn't help but grin for you, that you have this sudden mutual crush going on. I know the excitement and feelings those situations hold.

That said, I know why this is a hard situation for you. Follow your heart my friend, (and be sure it is your heart you are following) and the rest will fall into place

Entertaining Analogy, though something of a generalization. As a liberal Democrat, I can say that I don't believe either party is truly addressing the problems with taxes as they should. Taxation should be fair, and equal, and it's not. While the wealthy paid the largest portion of taxes in this nation, there exists loopholes, decreased rates for capital gains, no taxation on additional income over $100,000 for things which help everyone in our nation (namely social security and medicare), and other problems which need addressed. And many of those, neither party really wants to touch (the joys of having big money and special interests involved in our political arena, huh...)
