A Rainy Night in Cow Snot

Good Evening, Greasytown:

I am recovering nicely from my latest bout with illness, thank goodness.  Almost back to my normal self save for some lingering coughing fits.  Its raining again here and everyone keeps telling me just wait til August...then I'll pray for rain.  I have seen a coupla real nice rainbows this season however. Those are always too cool.

On the domestic front, my fam damily is having a nervous breakdown.  Crazy Sis and Mama are having problems with their new place.  Seems they need to replace the gas stove and Sis is dragging her feet.  We worry about safety issues but she sez its under control.  We tell her this is nothing to dick around with but she seems insulted by our concern.

In addition Jethrene is having issues.  About a month ago, a friend of hers from back in Devil's Asshole came out, lured by a good paying job offered in Brother Bubba's company. Bubba is the general manager of Bypass Snacks and Chips Inc. He hired Jethrene's pal Roz and Roz was gonna bunk in with Jethrene and the kids until she got her own place.  Well, Jethrene and Roz had and argument and now Roz in bunking over at Bubba and Suffering's.  Bubba and Suffering are not crazy about this arangement but, being good Christians, they couldn't very well leave the girl to the mean streets of Cow Snot.  So this is a mess.  In addition, one of the kids had a mishap.  Daisy May broke her collar bone in an incident at day care.  Some other little snot pushed her down  resulting in the injury.  The poor little darling.  Suffering is watching her through the day while Jethrene works.  I'm going over tomorrow and help her out.  The girl just does so much....I am concerned that she is stretching herself too thin.  In addition to her duties at home, she is also the office manager for Bypass Snacks and Chips Inc.  which is a full time job and then some.  She needs to tell all her worthless children to run their own lives but she won't.  Glad I had the forsight to remain childless.

Otherwise, life goes creeping on.  Our new building manager is a large, boistrous windbag of an ex-cop named Mickey. If he's outside holding forth, you can here his big, fat yap going clear up here. He seems like a nice enough guy but he never comes up for air.  Yak..yak...yak.  I thought I was bad.  And he's a big guy...over 6 feet and 250 or more.  I bet he buys his clothing at the Big and Loud Men's Store.

Twilight is approaching here in Cow Snot. As I gaze out the window I see Sylvia, another inma...I mean resident and her dog Tyler out for the evening "duty".  The light is dimming(and the rain has stopped but I still hear thunner,) but I can tell who it is by the deck shoes, the white ankle socks and the babushka....and that's on the dog.  Sylvia is wearing capri pants, which should be outlawed for those who are on the high side of 80 and with ample cabooses. Or anybody for that matter.  The last person that saw yers truely in a pair of peddle pushers went blind.

Well, I'm gonna go hit the hay. Catch up on some much needed shut-eye.  Have a safe and happy Fourth of July, everyone.

We're having a drought. Surely wish that rain would come our way. Your humor had me laughing. Have a great holiday weekend.

It isn't easy to break a collar bone and the brace you have to wear is nasty! I hope she's feeling better soon. The day care should have some insurance to cover the medical bills. Glad you're feeling better, bugg, As for capris I wear them instead of shorts to keep my knees from showing.

Jethrene has Blue Cross through her work so I think the baby is covered. When she(Jethrene) was about Daisy's age, she also had a broken bone. I think it was her wrist.

Glad to hear you are starting to get better! Sorry to hear about Daisy May and her broken collarbone. Are the parents of the other child that pushed her going to pay the medical bills? That's gotta hurt! Caleb broke his shoulder while BMXing one night and that pain was bad enough, but I've heard that breaking a collar bone can hurt a lot! Hope it heals quickly!!

Had to laugh at the story about your new apt. manager. Sounds like ours. But I love him anyway..matter of fact, I've adopted him as my *other* dad. He is just a loud kind of person.

Enjoy your fourth of July!

I hear ya on the capri's. Also, do your neighbors allow their dog to do their evening duty on the sidewalks. That really chaps my hide around here. Some idiot neighbor always brings her dog to our sidewalk to do his evening duty. I've been tempted to scoop it all up and drop it neatly on her front porch some early morning. Dare me??!!
comment by jerms on July 1, 2009 9:03 PM ()
Sylvia is always good about picking up after Tyler. Most pet owners here at Shady Pines are. Its the jerks in the surrounding neighborhood that we've had problems with.

I'm glad you're feeling better. We didn't get rain today, but there is lightning in the distance so maybe tonight.

Yep I love to see the old ones here think they are young and dress accordingly--if only they could see how stupid they look and are!!

You may not have had children but it always sounds like your THE mother to your family!!!!

Glad you are feeling better! Boy, anybody called a lawyer about that broken collarbone incident? That stinks!
comment by marta on July 1, 2009 7:46 PM ()
yeah, the poor little kid. Jethrene should have a few words with the parent at least. In the interest of justice, the offending child was put in "time out". Boy that'll teach 'em a lesson.

reguards
yer do you think that's too harsh? pal
