MATERIALS: 1 50g/1.75 oz ball worsted weight cotton yarn
1 pair 4.5mm/7 US needles
1 darning needle

Size: 20cm/8 in X 20cm/8 in

TENSION: 20 sts & 26 rows with 4.5mm/7 US needles = 10 cm/4 inches

Cast on 29 stitches.
Row 1: K1, p1 to last stitch, k1.
Row 2: Increase 1 stitch, repeat row 1, increase 1 stitch. (31 sts)
Rows 3-5: Continue in seed stitch increasing 1 stitch at each end of row. (37 sts)
Keeping first and last 4 sts as seed st border, continue.
Row 6: Purl.
Row 7: Knit.
Row 8: Purl.
Row 9: K5, p7,k5, p7, k5.
Row 10: P5, k7, p5, k7, p5.
Row 11: K4, p3, k3, p2, k5, p2, k3, p3, k4.

Right Shoulder: Join yarn at neck edge and continue as for left shoulder.
Darn in loose ends.

I've been knitting almost non-stop for 46 years....I did slack off a bit for the two years I was hooking my 6 X 9 foot carpet.

I confess, at 16 I could have read that, but not any part of it made sense today. I'm delighted there are still people who knit and crochet, but these fingers made a big mistake and stopped crocheting about ten years ago. My mama was smarter than I, she crocheted right up until she couldn't see any more at 70. Maybe I could learn again.
