Shetland Neckwarmer
Designed by Nittineedles

My mother gave me a ball of dog hair/wool she had spun from the downy fur of my sister's Shelties. It was soft as silk and I wanted to knit something that would be next to my skin. This is the result.

MATERIALS: 50g/ 1.75 oz Aran weight yarn
1 circular 5.5mm/9 US needle
1 stitch marker
1 darning needle

Size: 15cm X 61cm/ 6 in X 24 in

TENSION: 18 sts & 24 rows with 5.5mm/9 US needles = 10 cm/4 inches

Cast on 90 stitches.
Place marker.
Round 1: [(K2tog) 6 times, (yo, k1) 6 times] repeat to end of round.
Round 2: Knit.
Round 3: Knit.
Repeat rounds 1 to 3 until cowl is 15cm/ 6 in long or desired length.
Cast off.
Darn in ends.

That's very nice. My mom has been looking to do some circular work so she's been looking for a pattern or idea that she likes. I'm going to show her this and maybe it'll turn out to be what's she's looking for.

It has a beautiful halo but the lace work is hidden. I'll have to try this with something less furry.

It is pretty simple. I whipped it up yesterday, pattern and all.
I got your message. No more. You're going to be paying a fortune in postage. I'll see if I can match your list.

JR just walked in the room and I showed him your work of art. He liked it, too. It reminds us both of the work his daughter does with natural yarns. He also saw your wedding pics you posted and was remembering those plaid suits from the 70's. So you have another fan... my hubby JR.

That is beautiful. Of course being made out of natural fibers really makes it soft and pretty. Love the color. Great job!!!!
