  The Wheels on the Bus

OK, so it's not a bus. It's my 1987 car and there's nothing wrong with my wheels (I hope). It's the muffler. The neighbours can hear me coming home from blocks away. As I don't/can't have any **music** to listen to while driving I've gotten used to the noise and figured I'd do something about it.....eventually. Then DH said it sounded like the muffler was going to fall off soon. That did it. How mortifying to be motoring along in the middle of town when the muffler falls off. I called the car fix-it place and got to talk to my son-in-law (DD#2's hubby). He asked if I'd like to bring my car in on a day he's working and I said sure. Now, he won't be working on my car as he is management but I figure I can still put the blame on him if anything goes wrong. ;o)

**Music**
My 1987 radio doesn't work. My 1987 cassette deck doesn't work. Since The Eleven Year Old grandson showed me how to put music on my MP3's I thought I'd get an adapter, or whatever it's called, to play my MP3 music through the car's speakers. The pimply faced kid in Walmart couldn't believe I was driving a car older than he was. He also said he couldn't help me because nothing in the damn car works except for the engine. Have I mentioned I'd like a new(er) car?

Would be happy to have any second car at all. Ed says why do I need it, I never go anywhere. Duh.

Sorry, but your post just cracked me up. Your descriptions are hilarious! Hope you get that old car fixed up nicely so you can continue to drive it.

Come down here, our fed gov't is talking about a new program - dollars for clunkers - incentives to get people to trade in their old cars for new ones to help the faltering auto industry. Sounds bizarre doesn't it?

Thanks to your government, Canadians are not allowed to buy cars in the US. I can't for the life of me figure out why.

If it's a member of my family, it's a 22 year old who should move out.

Don't give up on your car. One that you have had that long must be a like a member of the family. I had an "87 Acura, drove it 13 years until husband couldn't get in it - sold it to my yard man and he drove it about 5 years and sold it to a teacher in Mexico. I bet my car is still running down there. nena h
