Here in the Twilight Twilight Zone!

So I have been exploring any and all options for employment. Including, but not limited to restaurant work, consulting, as well as other non profit gigs.

Yesterday and today I had two interviews for restaurant jobs. I also had a phone interview. The phone interview went well, and the one restaurant gig did not. I show up at the agreed upon time for the interview, and the dude doesn't have his act together. He has to walk up the stairs and get the file. He comes down spends five minutes reviewing my application with me sitting there. I am nervous so I tell him some silly story about my name and how I had to be told it was Elizabeth.

We begin the interview and he asks me about my previous position, and what brings me to this restaurant. I don't want to mention the name of it for fear that I bring them any kind of promotion or demotion. Anywho, I explain I was laid off and that I was going back to school in the Fall and that I thought I would go full time instead of part time. He said, it says you want 40 hours, and I explain to him how as a senior in college, I worked full time at Ruby's and got a 4.0. He seems mildly impressed. Then we go on to discuss some other things and he starts quoting shakespeare, and says afterwards: It seems your hard to reign in and very verbose from the story I tell him. He draws many more of these conclusions and the interview seems more like a therapy session. Under no circumstances would I work for this group if they were to give me an opportunity I would laugh in their face. I mean they called me on Saturday and begged me to come back only to have this judgemental short man interview me. This was a large waste of time.

My final interview with the non profit is a week from tomorrow. I am feeling like all this is meant to be. I mean I have been on 4 in person interviews and have had 3 phone interviews. It seems like a lot but I hope it's all meant to mean that I get this job a week from tomorrow. I have started saying "I have a great job at X organization." I fill in the X but I don't want to jinx it. I hope you're all doing well! Toodloo for now.

The restaurant guy sounds like a real jerk. Imagine him being your boss?!!! You're better off elsewhere...ANYwhere.

Job hunting involves kissing a lot of toads before the right one comes along. Good for you to get all those interviews - it will work out for the best.

The man obviously was reading into his own problems and was stunned by your beauty and intelligence - just as I was.

Clearly. I was like pretending I didn't have a Master's Degree. This is what I had to do to apply to restaurant jobs. Its ridiculous...

First impressions are always the BEST impressions. Lose the judgmental man's job.

I am pretty sure he's not going to hire me and I am not worried about it, at all. :) Thanks for reading!

I believe it's meant to be as well... And that dude and place is apparently to be avoided. I haven't ever been to that one so I am doing well so far...

LOL. Seriously. Don't ever go. You might meet him and he'll give you a therapy session you never wanted.
