Rip Margaret Ford ( 1919-2008)

After a week of dealing with the death of my Grandmother , I decided to reinstate myself into the blogosphere by paying her tribute. ... She was a strong woman who spent the final thirty-four years of her life a widow. She never waivered in her to her family. She was always laughing and able to joke with us, even until her final months as she was facing a death she knew would come soon. She was a model for generosity and compassion and was always able to recount stories we weren't around f ...

Equadorian Documents Shed Some Light on Crisis

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,336277,00.html It would appear old style corruption may have been in play at play in the Southern Hemisphere. Two things are scary about this. One, that Chavez ran so quickly to their defense. Two that Libya's Ghadafi was involved. Now I am not thinking Columbia wanted merely to influence politics in their leftist's neighbors yard but rather these documents do explain some of why there was no action taken against the rebels. Does Lebanon come to anyone e ...

Democrats Shoot Themselves in the Foot Twice!

Now had I been a Greasy.com member back in January, this post could have been written then. As such I will have to address this now as the Democratic party is scrambling to do the unthinkable/impossible. Some member of the party want to re-do the Michigan and Florida elections. Elections where John Edwards still could have been a candidate had they not been moved to be so early. Some want the results to stand. Results where Hillary ran uncontested and still had more than 30% vote against h ...

Syrian Man Displays No Love

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,335249,00.html A man has apparently decapitated his own child in a Syrian market place. What more needs to be said. Honor killing? I think not? Martyrdom I think not.

Bush Backs Columbia

http://www.salem-news.com/articles/march052008/chavez_buildup_3-5-08.php This article and others like it view with surprise for whatever reason that Bush would support Columbia's leadership in its quarrel with its neighbors Equador and Venezuala. Has the fact that only Israel and Egypt recieve more in military assistance from the Americans than Columbia escaped notice? Columbia is America's big helper in the south in terms of drugs and trying to stem the spread of socialism. This is not to ...

Bush Backs Mccain

Well its all over except the convention for the Republican nomination contest. MCcain has secured more than enough delegates to clinch the nomination and has even recieved an endorsement from the sitting President himself. The two have had bitter disagreements with each other and joined together to have bitter disagreements with the rest of the party over things like immigration. I feel McCain has enough of his own ideas to put distance from himself and George W. Bush. Now he has until Nov ...

Equador in Face-off with Columbia

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/americas/03/02/chavez.colombia/index.html They claim they don't want war but Eqauador's government has sent troops to the border with Columbia. This jus hours afters Venezuala did the same in response to an attack on Columbian Rebels, the FARC, that penetrate Equadors airspace apparently. Let us hope and pray for cooler heads to prevail as they did in the Cuban missile crisis. A much higher stakes crisis but I jsut finished watching 13 days and it came to mind ...

Why No Catholic in the Title?

For those of you familiar with my blogerter.com site it is called "Catholics for a subversive renewal of cultuere". That was in 2005 when I started it. I have realized that now there is just me and and I usually write about things that are more poltical than religious. SO I took out the Catholic. I do find a need to subvert the liberal "consensus" in the media when possible and add a few things that may not necesarrily be mainstream. I hope that answers that!
