  A Really Bad Product

This morning I bought a gallon Of Arizona Sweet Tea, and it was horrible. Under no circumstances should you buy this stuff. It tasted like tea I was served once at a greasy spoon , where the tea had been sitting out on a counter for three days and had a sharp, sour ready to ferment taste.  (The dentist had said drink tea or other non carbonated beverages till the extraction healed-- that's why I bought this witch's brew.)

It's so easy to make a gallon of tea, I don't know why I bought it in the first place, except the container touted real Southern style brewed sweet tea,  so I thought why not. Yuck, phewy, gag. I'm gonna have to make a trek back to the store to get my money back,  (snarl.)

Real Southern sweet tea is strong Lipton or Red Diamond brewed tea loaded with sugar and served over ice. I called the phone number on the label, and Arizona Tea Company had voice mail which cut me off at every option and didn't allow me, a consumer, to leave a message.  Extremely poor customer relations. I hope this sorry company falls flat on their face.

It only after I got on the Internet that I discovered Arizona Tea Company is under attack by some black people for their labeling of the containers of Southern style sweet tea. The label shows an antebellum type setting which apparently offended some black folks who thought it had connotations of slavery. Well, go for it you disgruntled people and whack Arizona Tea Company.

I like tea sometimes, but I never got hooked. Iced tea in restaurants is terrible because they cool it with ice cubes and it dilutes. Also, you sweeten it after the ice is in and it takes a ton of sugar because it doesn't dissolve. Hiss, boo.

It's my favorite beverage I guess because that's what I grew up drinking. It's got to be sweetened before ice is added. There's a lot of individuals--and restaurants-- who can't make decent iced tea.

Thanks for the warning!

You're welcome--I took it back to Wallymart and they gave me my money back..

I make all my tea the real Southern way--put a bunch of tea bags in a jar and put it out in the sun--still the best way!

When my daughters were growing up we made sun tea all the time--I don't know why I don't do that anymore!

If I'm going to pay for a beverage that I can't make at home, it's going to be carbonated. This product has been around and available up north for at least 15 years, probably longer, but I never had a desire to try it. Snapple makes a decent tea (also with flavors) tho!

I usually drink water, tea or milk, but as far as carbonation, I do love Cherry Coke and buy some of that once in a while.
(I also have buttermilk in the frige; love that too.)

I tried some of their tea many years ago. It came in a pretty bottle with an Asian looking flower on it, but I didn't like it, either. It has always struck me as a product line that must appeal to generation X or Y or whatever it is. I never had the inclination to try their other products in case there might be one worth drinking. We love sweet tea - the kind that is sweetened when it is still hot from being brewed so the sugar really takes hold.

We always sweeten the tea in the pitcher while its still hot and pour over a big glassful of ice cubes--I'm steeping some tea right now---Mmmm.

Hi Fredo, I've tried green tea several times and to me it tastes like what I imagine cat pee would taste like (!) I like plain ole black tea.

I love fresh brewed tea. We always sugared it while it was still hot before we put the cold water in. Later, I learned to drink it without sugar. A pox on Arizona tea company. Wow, some people take offense easily.

According to the Internet, the tea company is redesigning their label for the sweet tea because of black customer complaints. It's so bad I don't know why they're going to bother.
I usually use Splenda, but it's not the same as sugar! I've nerved learned to drink tea unsweetened.

Thanks for the heads up! I have seen this tea, but had yet to try it -

I sincerely hope you don't waste money on this product--it was truly awful.
