Just turned on the computer and found out Sara Palin has resigned as Alaska's governor--what's the story there? Something's up--guess we'll find out what sooner or later.

Then Michael Jackson's family want to have a big deal funeral open for public access, with tickets to the event on a first come first served basis(I see riots and trouble there). California, in a severe budget crunch and financially strapped in every facet will have to pick up the tab for extra police for crowd control, cleanup etc.

If that family want a grand send off, they should have to pay for it, not the taxpayers of California. Just my opinion of course.

With M. J. it is all about the money....the struggle for custody, the funeral and the whole bit with him. Creepy. Sarah Palin must have a monumental ego. I get stirred up just thinking of the decline that would happen if she were President. I don't want to be ruled by a soccer mom.

On CNN, they've been featuring long interviews with MJ's brother Jermaine. There's something creepy about him, too.
Haven't watched the news today, so don't know what's the latest on Palin--I wonder if there is some gossip or scandal she's afraid might come out, so she resigned. (That's me, always the pessimist!)

My syntax got a little muddled. Palin is planning to tour the country raising money for the party so that Republicans will feel grateful and support her run for the presidency.

I knew what you meant..

Palin thinks she needs to be unfettered so she can devote all her time fund-raising (and ingratiating) for the party and building markers for support for her run for the presidency in 2012. Her brain is twisted, her self-entitlement is monumental, her base, that she just can't grasp, is very narrow. She is unable to reach people who think and she doesn't know it. The fundamentalists, the tattooed wonders, the Joe plumbers, will worship at her little pink toes, but the rest of us will look for genuine leadership. Politico.com has a few videos of pundits reacting.

I can't believe that twit has the monumental ego to think she could ever be president. And as the pundits are saying--what does it say for a governor who would resign when she gets some flak--does she think the presidency is gonna be a cakewalk compared to that? Would she just walk away from that job too?

Crist, in Florida, isn't finishing he first term as governor so he can run for the Senate!!! And he has been under more 'fire' than Palin--I think both are thinking of running in 2012--if she learns that she can't see Russia from Alaska!!!

Why do I have the feeling Joe Jackson will make money from this whole public thing???

Wouldn't that be a pair of gooney birds--Palin and Christ-- running for prez?
Oh but here in Mississippi, our guv in making rumbles about the prez thing, but a political analyst said "He's fat and has a deeply southern drawl and people outside of the south wouldn't vote for him." Hey bub, I'm southern and I wouldn't vote for him to be dog catcher.

Why should Sarah Palin keep a sworn duty and commitment to serve the citizens of Alaska when she can go make big money making speeches? And she is the star of the GOP?? Yeeesch.

My understanding, Sue, is that the tickets to Jackson's memorial are free, only for confirmed seating inside the arena. It's a way to control crowds, but there will be in all likelihood many fans there without tickets, too, standing vigil. Crowd control will be tough.
