What's Going on Here, @ My Blog .

I wanted to express what my blog is for. I googled "blogs" and thought that the following passage summed up my view on blogging .

Personal blogs
The personal blog, an ongoing diary or commentary by an individual, is the traditional, most common blog. Personal bloggers usually take pride in their blog posts, even if their blog is never read by anyone but them. Blogs often become more than a way to just communicate; they become a way to reflect on life or works of art. Blogging can have a sentimental quality. Few personal blogs rise to fame and the mainstream, but some personal blogs quickly garner an extensive following. A type of personal blog is referred to as "microblogging," which is extremely detailed blogging as it seeks to capture a moment in time. Sites, such as Twitter, allow bloggers to share thoughts and feelings instantaneously with friends and family and is much faster than e-mailing or writing. This form of social media lends to an online generation already too busy to keep in touch.

I used to be quite a frequent blogger. I posted regularly, and spent a lot of time reading and posting. Now I am no longer obsessed. I use my blog as therapy. I write what I want to, and what I feel. I don't look for replys, I don't even look to see who last visited me, who's top of the polls, nor do I have any tracking aid embedded within .

I AM NOT INTERESTED IN A BLOGGING WAR, NOR AM I LOOKING FOR ONE.

I tried writing in a diary, several times, when I was young. It never lasted very long. I find I need the validation. If no one read my blog I'd stop blogging.

Tracy, I'm with you. At one time...and, there are still times...there were subjects and issues that I really wanted to focus on or elaborate on. I was intent on keeping up with everybody else (in the frequency of posting, commenting, adding more friends, and covering the same topics plus some of my own). It was wonderful, to say the least, because I was really involved in something I loved, enjoyed, learned from, shared, and felt a sense of importance, friendship, and I was actually "giving" something and learning at the same time. However, it isn't always like that...not in any area of my life...that I have that much intensity, time, drive, or interest at all times. There are other things in life, too, and I found I needed and wanted to devote more time and energy in those things. I still want to blog, I still enjoy reading blogs, and I love my friends in the blogging world...so, I still want to write, read, learn, and interact. But, it's not so obsessively compulsive anymore, it's not a competition...it is simply something I enjoy including in my life along with other things. I may get "on a roll" at times, but then will ease off again, depending on my mood, what else may be going on, and a number of other things. I do want to see what others write about, I will still comment and reply, I might get into a debate or I may offer advice or suggestions...or, I may not, depending on whether it will be helpful or a waste of time (especially along the lines of arguing).

I just know that I enjoy reading whatever you post and I look forward to seeing them whenever you do post and I get a chance to see them. Whatever you choose to write about is what YOU want/choose to write about, and that's the way it should be, anyway...maybe that's why I like your posts so much.

Sometimes I just want to share information to my blog friends and other times, I want to express thoughts or feelings. It just depends on the day.
