We have motorcycle people from Nebraska next door and I spend half the time thinking they are okay and the other half picturing them and their local friends as drug dealers and meth lab operators.

Last night I worried that they are going to steal some of my objects from the Brown Palace, and maybe the ones from out of state are okay, but their friends from our nearby city looked a little funny around the eyes, and a little too excited about discovering our property tucked down here off the road.



I have been very careful not to tell any of them we aren't here year round because I can see these locals coming down here to set up a lab.

Then I would think they looked clean and all but right away it would cross my mind that a crook can take a shower and get cleaned up, and even crooks like to take vacations.

This morning the Nebraska ones said they want to come back next year (they are celebrating their wedding anniversary - two couples, same wedding day, the women work together). So when he said it, I decided they wouldn't take any objects because they might be too embarrassed to show up again. But then sociopaths have no shame.

And I know I'm being silly, but then who are these people? I looked up their house in Google Maps, but then I got worried that it is rented.

Crooks can read the Vacations for Rent by Owner website just as easily as other people. And I know a lot of nice people who ride motorcycles so there's nothing wrong with it. But then none of my acquaintances look quite like these characters.

I'm sure I'll survive the weekend and they are fine folks. And I'll probably have them back next year. I need to broaden my circle of friends any way.

This 3-wheeler one of the women rides is the size of a Volkswagen bug, sort of a grandma meets Hell's Angels.

The meth cookers and addicts in Nor Cal would not even be able to hold the bike up let alone drive it for hours on a highway!! Maybe just maybe.... just out exploring the area...they may become some of your best visiters!!!???
